Food Donations

Please consider contributing to the “Scouting for Food” food drive coming up in November 2017. Please check our Current Needs for items we are most in need of when donating.

Our main source of food comes from three major food drives: Cub Scouts in March, “Stamp out Hunger” through the Union Grove Post Office in May, and “Scouting for Food” in November. Piggly Wiggly  also offers “Stomp out Hunger” family donation brown bags on a continual basis. Your donations to these events help to keep us stocked throughout the year

Our contributing churches and area school food drives help in keeping our shelves stocked throughout the year.

Some of our meat is supplied through participants of The Racine County Fair Livestock Auction who donate poultry and livestock.

We receive bi-monthly bread and bakery donations from Panera Bread.

Semi-Annual Used Clothing Sales –
Volunteer Opportunities

Our twice-a-year used clothing sales provide clients an affordable way to clothe their families. Additionally, we provide clothing for residents of area group homes free of charge. The sales are held in May and August.

We are also able to offer volunteer opportunities for the residents of Vet’s Place, students at Union Grove High School, and the general public. We appreciate help with set-up, sorting, and pack-up of these events.

The sale proceeds help offset the costs of our day-to-day operating expenses. Your donations of (clean) new or gently used clothing is very much appreciated.

For further information, or to volunteer, please contact Arlene Van Ess at 262-853-4144 or email ugafbcoordinator@yahoo.com

Planned Giving

Become proactive in your estate planning by utilizing Planned Giving. Planned Giving is a plan to settle your estate. That plan, in coordination with your estate planner, attorney and family, should include a review of your assets and a conscious inquiry into the benefits of making a bequest to your church or your favorite charity. The benefits of addressing this question are in direct proportion to the size of your estate and the faith in your heart. Consider naming Union Grove Area Foodbank, Inc. with a bequest from your estate.

Planned Giving can:

  • Provide inheritance tax savings.
  • Create an immediate tax deduction while allowing the giver to use an asset during the remainder of his/her lifetime.
  • Create a Memorial that honors your name in perpetuity.
  • Provide tremendous peace of mind.
  • Identify an asset that your heirs can live without.
  • Have a huge impact on the lives of many while being only a small percentage of your estate.
